What We Build: Verifiable Client-Side Security Tools
The Pass Key (thepasske.com) is an independent, privacy-first cybersecurity toolkit built for individuals, families, and IT teams across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and worldwide. We build fast, zero-knowledge browser utilities — including our Password Generator, Passphrase Generator, PIN Generator, and Password Strength Checker — that execute 100% locally on your device.
Unlike legacy online generators that compute strings on a remote server or load intrusive third-party trackers on tool pages, The Pass Key generates and evaluates every credential inside your browser tab using the W3C standard Web Crypto API (window.crypto.getRandomValues()) seeded by your operating system's hardware random number generator.
Our Technical & Privacy Architecture
- Zero Password Transmission: Generated passwords, passphrases, numeric PINs, and strength-checker inputs never leave your browser tab. There are no backend generation endpoints, no database writes, and no form submissions.
- Zero Local Persistence: Sensitive values live strictly in volatile JavaScript memory while you use the tool and are never written to
localStorage, sessionStorage, browser cookies, or URL query parameters. - Strict Content Security Policy (CSP): Every page is served with hardened HTTP security headers (
Content-Security-Policy,Strict-Transport-Securitywith preload,X-Frame-Options: DENY, andX-Content-Type-Options: nosniff) and publishes a standard RFC 9116 vulnerability disclosure policy at/.well-known/security.txt. - Multi-Region Privacy Compliance (GDPR, UK GDPR, PIPEDA & CCPA): Because our tools process zero personal or credential data on our servers and gate optional page-view analytics behind explicit cookie consent, The Pass Key meets strict privacy-by-design standards across North America and Europe.
Editorial Standards & International Benchmarks
Our password security guides are written and reviewed by The Pass Key editorial team to translate technical cryptography and authentication standards into clear, actionable advice. Every recommendation we publish is grounded in current public guidance from:
- United States: National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST SP 800-63B Digital Identity Guidelines) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
- Canada: The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS) and federal Get Cyber Safe authentication benchmarks.
- United Kingdom & Europe: The UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), and the FIDO Alliance (WebAuthn / passkeys).
